Best of luck to Amo Racing with our Wootton Bassett colt out of Luna Mare, who was bought for 2,200,000gns out of our draft on Wednesday at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Sale.
We were delighted to see him head to the Amo team, especially as they have already enjoyed success with the family as owners of his Gr.2-winning half-brother Crypto Force.
Kia Joorabchian told reporters: “We love Crypto – he’s been a bit fragile for us recently because he had a couple of bad injuries at the end of his 2yo career and he hasn’t really managed to pick up that velocity that he had. But we know the mare and we know she can produce a good horse. And this is a big upgrade being by Wootton Bassett. It’s a family that we know and we thought we had to have him.
“I was hoping he’d be half that! But when you’re bidding against the big guys, you have to really go for it. He’ll go to Freemason and we’ll see how he goes – hopefully he’ll be an earlier type of Wootton Bassett.”
